Infopeople is pleased to announce a new workshop that is the first in what
will be a series devoted to training techniques -- a series in which we
will share what we have learned through our years of training library staff
throughout California. The next workshop in this series will be "Delivering
Effective Library Presentations." Please share this announcement with
anyone in your library who does any kind of training.

Title: Training the Trainer

Dates and locations:

Thursday, February 27, California State Library
Friday, March 21, Cerritos Public Library
Wednesday, April 2, San Jose Public Library
Tuesday, April 15, San Diego Public Library
Wednesday, April 23, San Francisco Public Library

To register for this workshop: Use the online registration form at
http://www.infopeople.org/WS/workshop/Workshop/120

Are you next in line to create a program or event that involves training
library users?

Are you expected to train colleagues in your library after attending a
workshop?

Are you the only person in your library who knows how to use an essential
database, Web site or application--and would feel more comfortable if
others shared your knowledge?

Would you like to do more to position your library as a learning
destination?

If you find yourself in any or all of these situations, you'll benefit from
improved training skills. In this workshop you can learn to improve your
organizational and presentation skills AND make the
training you provide to others both fun and worthwhile.

Workshop Description: This all-day workshop will provide practical, useful
tips for delivering a training session or workshop. You will learn the
basic components necessary for successful training and how to apply them to
your own work situation. In this workshop, participants will prepare a

following proven guidelines for training materials, and gain experience and
confidence by preparing and delivering a short presentation.

variety of topics from basic computer and searching skills through advanced
browser use, training the trainer, PowerPoint and K12

the gospel of strong training techniques, but to learn more
about all facets of California libraries.
