Anyone remember when NBC spent millions on a new logo and it turned out to
look just like the one the Nebraska Broadcasting Corporation came up with,
for a couple of hundred dollars? I'm not sure why that comes to mind....

Jaye LaPachet and Ava Goldman have just sent the two announcements to
the list regarding the vote on the SLA name change. There is a
disclaimer with respect to the second article from Information Today
regarding why the vote had to be held in person rather than
electronically. Does anyone know if New York State law would have
precluded a mailed ballot? After spending 3 years and goodness knows
how much money on the Task Force, you would think that a little more
spending in order to give more than 8% of the membership a chance to
express their opinion would have been more politically positive, not to
mention, generally "kinder and gentler."
