My two cents is that Gina Arnold is a pain. She used to write rock concert
reviews for the East Bay Express (before it became a tabloid). She was
really controversial. I don't give a darn about rock music, but she clearly
raised the hackles of many readers judging from the number of letters to the
editors.

Subject: SLA-SF: Librarians are

According to today's SF Gate (online Chroniclea) column "Unemployed? Use the
down time to jumpstart your new life," by Gina Arnold:

..."One can take classes at any of a host of institutions, ranging from
relatively inexpensive City College, San Francisco State University
Extension and UC Berkeley Extension -- where one can get certified in
proto-professional skills such as project management and library science --
to expensive but useful organizations such as AcademyX and the Center for
Electronic Arts, where complex new computer skills are taught, to more
esoteric places such as the Bay Area Video Coalition, which offer
video-production and filmmaking classes."... (emphasis added)
