Dear Cynthia,

For some reason my emails will not go through to the list-serv,
but I've been following this issue and would appreciate it if you
would pass along some information.

This practice of the library communities of the convention city
supporting the convention media is nothing new.As far as I know,
it was done as far back as 1984 (and probably earlier because I'm
sure the idea didn't originate there) in Dallas. It was done not
only to be helpful to the media but to showcase the talents and,
especially the relatively new, online skills of the information
professionals...some worthwhile PR, don't you think?Despite the
assurances to the contrary of the person who made the original
complaint, I hardly think this would have become an issue if
the Boston library community had provided the same service to the
Democratic convention.
