I think I've seen general articles but not sure what the search terms
would be -- could be tricky.
How about one of the better job search websites? Also, it seems to me
that there isn't one meaningful average -- would vary so much depending
on the graduate's major. Also whether it's a 4 year, grad, or post-grad
degree.

Subject: SLA-SF: Ref Question: College Grads & Jobs
Good morning...
I have been working on this question:
On average, how long does it take a college graduate to land his/her
first job after graduation?
Looking at it in a different way: How long are college grads unemployed
after graduation before they land their first jobs?
I have researched the Census and BLS websites, and I have spoken with a
BLS person in Washington who is a subject specialist and who has done a
report on this. I have also spoken with NACE (National Association of
Colleges and Employers)
The attorney is still not satisfied. :-( Does anyone have any other
ideas? Have I missed any obvious resources?
Thanks,
Mark
