10-10:15 Welcome and Orientation

10:15-11 Karen Schneider, Director, Librarians' Index to the Internet
Overview of Weblogs. What is a Blog, why they are significant, how other
libraries use Blogs, and other interesting information about Blogs.

11-11:45 Librarian Blog demonstration and discussion with audience
                          Presenter(s): TBA

11:45-1:15 Lunch
1:15-2:30 Steve Sloan, Information Technology Consultant, San Jose
State University
Hands-on "How to create a Blog and an RSS feed" and other things you may
need to know.

2:30-3 pm Wrap up.

The cost of the workshop is $25.00 for those who register by July 28 and
includes morning coffee, tea, orange juice and lunch. If space is still
available, you may register after July 28 for $45. Please print out this

Chinese chicken salad (Marinated chicken in a sesame/soy sauce with an
array of Asian vegetables on a bed of soft Lo Mein noodles, garnished with
Mandarin oranges & cilantro).

Carne asada salad (Marinated grilled Mexican steak with beans, avocado,
tomato, green onion and black olives on a bed of lettuce with sour cream
and chipotle salsa).

Couscous salad (Mediterranean Couscous cakes on crisp greens, kalamata
olives, feta cheese, roasted red pepper, fresh basil and tomato with
balsamic vinaigrette).

have any special dietary needs.
