Contact www.spie.org the International Society for Optical Engineering. There are 18 handbooks in their publications list, but no dictionaries. I assume their handbooks would include definitions.

        I'm trying to find a dictionary that will have definitions of some of the optical engineering terms I've looking for. The only optical engineering reference I've managed to locate (Elsevier's Dictionary of Opto-electronics and electro-optics) is just a list of terms in four languages). The usual dictionaries (McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms; Academic Press Scientific Dictionary; IEEE Electrical and Electronics Terms) don't have the words we're looking for.

        Any suggestions on where to find definitions for these terms? This is not my area of expertise.
