BayNet is pleased to announce a new library tour. Please join us for
a delightful evening of hors d'oevres, special libations and
convivial networking at the California Historical Society's North
Baker Research Library. Our hostess will be Mary L. Morganti,
Director of Research Collections. Appropriately, a new exhibit,
Changing Tastes: Menus from Chez Panisse and the Palace Hotel, will
have recently opened and its curator, Library Assistant Joe Evans,
will share his thoughts on celebrations of eating as illustrated by
the menus from the Society's own collections and on loan from The
Bancroft Library. This will also be an opportunity to see the
California in Time exhibit in the main gallery, where original items
from CHS' fine arts, library, and photography collections mirror the
Society's California History Online exhibit at
www.californiahistoricalsociety.org. Mary and the library staff will
present an overview of the library, its collections and services, and
demonstrate how their collections can be accessed. For your shopping
pleasure, the Society's book and gift shop will remain open until
6:30.
