That is assuming that St. Mary's has a wireless router in place. If they are not configured for it, then you will not get wireless access.

Hi, Michelle and Paula,
You need a wireless card. This usually goes into a port on your laptop.
Just be careful not to send proprietary info over wireless as there are
hackers who drive around looking for just this stuff from insecure
connections.

Take your laptop with you to a local store such as Best Buy and they
should be able to help you.
You can also call TigerDirect or CDW-G 800-800-4cdw and they can help
you. (These are online stores.)
