Cloud Images from the Exploratorium Digital Image Database
Teachers can download images available on the web from the Exploratorium and use them for their classes.
Go to http://hypatia.exploratorium.edu:8080/Cumulus/Standard/Login2.jsp
Then hit the CONNECT button
Look down the list on the left until you find BY ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE, and click on the BLUE ARROW next to it. Then double-click on BY ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE - METEOROLOGY
You will be able to page through 325 images. Many are Exploratorium exhibit images, others are cloud images from my personal collection.
If you see an image you would like to copy onto your computer to use for teaching, CLICK-HOLD on the thumbnail until a dialog box with four choices will appear: select SHOW ORIGINAL. A larger image will appear.
Simply save this image to your hard drive as you would any image on the web.
On the MAC control-click on the image then save it.
